Are Yes to Carrots products gluten free?  I’m sure you’ve spotted the Yes To company products recently.  Everywhere I turn, I am seeing Yes to Carrots, moisturizers, cleansers, hair products, lip care, wipes, soaps and more lining large portions of store shelves!  Their colorful, contemporary packaging features the fresh fruit or vegetable predominant in each product.  They include Yes to Carrots for Nourishing, Yes to Cucumbers for Soothing, Yes to Grapefruit to Correct and Repair, Yes to Blueberries to Age Fresh and Yes to Tomatoes for Clear Skin.  So the big question is, are they gluten free?

You Can Say Yes To Most!, March 15, 2014

I hit the website first and their FAQs page told me says, “Do Yes To products contain gluten and/or soy? Most do not but there are a few that do. Please email care-ettes@yestocarrots.com for an updated list!” so that’s exactly what I did.  I’m happy to inform you that MOST Yes to Carrots products are gluten free when it comes to ingredients, however, they are done in a facility that produces the produces listed that contain gluten.  This is the response I received on March 16, 2014.

Let me tell you how exciting it is to hear that you are interested in Yes to Products, and interested in saying YES to something new.  A few Yes To products do contain gluten:

• YTC Intense Repair Hand Cream (Oat Kernel Flour)
• YTC Intense Repair Body Lotion (Oat Kernel Flour)
• YTC Hydrating Shower Gel (Wheat Germ Oil)
• YTB Deep Wrinkle Filler (Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil)
• YTT Clear Skin Facial Mask (Oat Kernel Meal)
• YTC Nourishing Shampoo (Wheat Germ Oil)
• YTC Pampering Conditioner (Wheat Germ Oil)

Please note: All items are produced in the same facility, thus we cannot guarantee them to be 100% gluten-free.  YTC=Carrot line; YTCu=Cucumber line; YTB=Blueberry; YTG=Grapefruit; YTT=Tomato; YTCb=Carrot Baby

This means that most are safe, at least by my standards for health and beauty care items.  I’d suggest emailing them yourself if you are reading this far in the future, but it doesn’t seem necessary.  For one, the response took three days to get (just informing, not complaining) and second, they appear to clearly label gluten containing products in their ingredient lists making it arguably unnecessary.  I’d love to hear your feedback on their products.
