I Found Them!, January 11, 2014

Well, I couldn’t stop fantasizing about my gluten free chicken tenders from the Electric Umbrella at EPCOT.  As in, I literally found myself daydreaming and drooling; I want them and I want them now.  Too bad I’m a good 1,000+ miles from there.  Since I was in a bit of a panic state while perusing the gluten free food binder at the time, I couldn’t recall the brand but decided to see if I couldn’t figure it out in some way.  Any way.

It’s sad to admit but I ran an absurd number of searches trying to figure out who made these specific chicken tenders, and looking back, I’m not sure how I didn’t find it.  (I’m questioning whether or not I did read that they were Allergy Free but didn’t realize it was a brand name?)  After I got slightly annoyed, I decided to shoot an e-mail to the Special Diets Department at Disney World telling them about my predicament.  They happily replied, informing me that my obsession was with AllergyFree Foods brand chicken tenderloins.  Yay!

I look them up and click the link.  Suspended page.  Are you kidding me!?!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  I search a bit more, but with such a generic brand name, the results are jumbled.  I see a few places I can order from online, but I have a no-shipping-frozen-foods policy.  I was hoping to locate them in a store.  I’ll keep my eyes peeled.  Never know?  Or maybe they’ll fix the site so I can ask them?

Disney At Home

Proper Disney Attire For My Dining Experience

Skip forward to a week after I get my much anticipated Disney response, the day is Saturday, January 11th.  I’ve been strolling through my go-to gluten free store, Naturally Soergel’s, with my newly gluten free friend and what do I see while discussing gluten free frozen foods?  ALLERGYFREE FOODS CHICKEN TENDERLOINS!  That’s right!  I was elated!  Can’t you tell from the pic above?

Now with these in my possession, I can have my gluten free, delectable Disney dining experience at home too.  Until next time, Mickey.  There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day…

My family and I are going to Disney and my son has allergies. I am trying to find out exactly what the ingredients are. If I give you a list of what he is allergic to, can you let me know if it is apart of the ingredients. Here is the long list:
    Milk
    Eggs
    Peanuts
    Tree nuts
    Pork
    Apples
    Garlic
    Green Peas
    Sweet Potatoes

If you could let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking at my current bag of frozen AllergyFree chicken tenders, it is clearly labeled as wheat/gluten free, milk free, egg free, peanut free, tree nut free, fish free, soy free and shellfish free. Unfortunately, in the list of ingredients I do see “dehydrated garlic” listed. I’d recommend contacting Disney directly for help by going through their Special Dietary Requests page below. When I emailed them, I got a response in under two days. I hope you have a lovely trip.
